internerd: Headline reads: “Kotex Tampons Recalled Due to Bacterial Contamination” and continues: “During the manufacturing process, the tampons were contaminated with the bacterium Enterobacter sakazakii, which can cause UTIs, pelvic inflammatory disease, and potentially life-threatening vaginal infections. There is also a chance that the bacteria can be transmitted between individuals.” Please read & re-blog
Super important info here for all tampon users!
On a similar note, though, I recommend to any and all ladies to give these a try. I swear by them (and there are various brands). The skin inside the vagina is some of the most sensitive and absorbent skin on our bodies and many tampons are bleached and can contain dioxins. Cups can also help prevent Toxic Shock Syndrome and irritation from the cotton/rayon tampons. Oh, and bonus. Using a soft cup/diaphragm makes it a heck of a lot easier/cleaner to have sex whilst on your period.
