Okay, last one, I promise. This one was particularly strange. We found a shitty part in the fence, earth wormed through it, and I somehow broke a door frame and lock with my tiny hands. Each floor was a different company (?) and one of the top levels was even a dance studio. The further up we got in the building, the more unstable the floors were. This particular floor was almost entirely standing water. Abandoned factory in Mansfield, Ohio. June 2008.

Anti-union bill in Ohio has been defeated

“With 25% of precincts reporting, the “no” votes for Issue 2 — votes for repealing Senate Bill 5 — had a 63-37% advantage. The Associated Press called the race at 9:16 pm ET.”

ilovecolumbus: OH dear.  Thanks to the Twitterverse for posting the following link from humanesociety.org regarding the Zanesville Zoo incident and the expired legal order on animal cruelty and exotic pet ownership. CLICK HERE TO READ What happened last night in Zanesville makes me so sad and angry. The most dangerous animals walk on two legs. If you’ don’t know what I’m talking about, read this article — some monumentally irresponsible asshole had a wild animal farm in our state (we have awful laws regarding the subject). Last night he was found dead and the cages wide open, leaving lions, bears, wolves, tigers, giraffes, camels, primates, and more to roam from their cages. At least 48 were loose and as of last night 31 had been shot… and I don’t mean sedated. They shot and killed these animals (or as many articles referred to them, “beasts”) rather than sedating and transporting them to one of the four major zoos in our state. Jack Hannah claims that it would be too difficult to tranquilize them in the dark (??) but I’m pretty sure any animal lover with the types of resources and money that he has could have gotten a team together to do the right thing. NOPE GUESS NOT, KILL ‘EM ALL AND TAKE PICTURES OF THEM LIKE THEY’RE TROPHIES.  But then it goes back to the whole issue of how dead guy never should have had these animals in the first place…
